Writers in class 4-411 learned all about what it takes to write a persuasive essay!
We learned to:
*Choose topics we feel passionately about and take a stance on the topic
*Write an introduction that sets up our readers (with a hook, opinion statement, and three reasons)
*Write 3 body paragraphs, one for each reason
*Include evidence (anecdotes, quotes, micro-stories, lists, etc.) to support each reason
*Unpack each piece of evidence with a sentence or two to explain how it relates back to our reasons
*Revise our evidence to make sure it is as strong as possible
*Revise our language to make sure our word choices really convey our meaning
*Write a conclusion that wraps up our essays and leaves our reader still thinking about our topic
Please enjoy reading our persuasive essays!
